Make apple fritters at home to celebrate fall! This recipe for fried apple fritters is simple and easy to make. They have a cinnamon-vanilla glaze on top.
– 3 to 4 cups canola oil– 3 cups diced Fuji apples peeled, cored, and diced - approx 3 large apples or 4 medium apples (375 grams)– 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice– 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour spooned & leveled (190 grams)

– ⅓ cup granulated sugar (65 grams)– 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder– ½ teaspoon salt– ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon– ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
– ½ cup whole milk (120 ml)– 1 large egg lightly beaten– 3 tablespoons unsalted butter melted and slightly cooled (45 grams)– 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Place diced apples and lemon juice in a large bowl. Save. Blend flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in another large bowl. After mixing dry ingredients, spatula well.

Add milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla. Batter mix. As desired, thick! Cover apples with batter. After 375°F oil, measure 1/4 cup batter in a baking spray-coated 1/4 cup or large scoop.

Place batter on a nonstick metal spatula and flatten into a medium disc. Lower the battered spatula into the oil; the batter should slide off easily.

Fry fritters for 2 minutes on each side until golden brown. Transfer cooked fritters to paper towel-lined plate. The homemade apple fritters can be glazed after cooling.

Cinnamon-vanilla glaze is just powdered sugar, ground cinnamon, vanilla, and whole milk. Even if it seems like a lot, use all the glaze. Since fritter dough isn't sweet, it keeps it moist and adds sweetness.
