We all need comfort sometimes. Comfort food includes morning dishes as well as evening favourites like mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, and chicken and waffles.
Ingredient
– ¼ cup bacon grease– ¼ cup flour– 2 cups whole milk– ½ teaspoon salt– ¼ teaspoon pepper– Sprinkle of cayenne pepper
Direction
Heat bacon fat in a pan until almost melted. Add flour and mix thoroughly. Cook until the mixture thickens, 2–3 minutes.

Stir milk regularly to remove lumps. Stir often for 5 minutes to thicken gravy.

Stir in salt, pepper, and cayenne. Season with salt and serve immediately.
