Cover two sheet pans with parchment. Put them aside.

Cream butter, brown sugar, and molasses in a stand mixer with the paddle attachment or a large bowl with a handheld mixer until light and fluffy.

A 3-tablespoon cookie scoop makes dough balls. Roll each ball in granulated and powdered sugar until covered. Place coated balls 2 inches apart on the baking sheet.
